cedar wellness lodge
Designed in collaboration with Simran Potnis and Mackenna Bell, Cedar Wellness Lodge is a 25,000 sq. ft. mental health healing center located in Attawapiskat, Northern Ontario. Designed to support the Indigenous community, the lodge focuses on creating a culturally safe and trauma-informed environment for individuals and families struggling with PTSD, substance use, and intergenerational trauma.
Guided by the teachings of the medicine wheel, each floor represents a stage in the healing journey, symbolized by a totem animal and corresponding color. The design supports emotional well-being, cultural identity, and connection to the land. This acknowledges that true healing happens through community, tradition, and care.
The space includes flexible teaching areas, private therapy spaces, gathering spaces, and wellness-focused amenities that serve both patients and their loved ones. All materials and furnishings were sourced from Canadian companies, reinforcing our commitment to local, sustainable, and community-centered design.
Every aspect of Cedar Wellness Lodge was crafted with the mindset of Reconnecting, Rebuilding, & Restoring.
