design philosophy

This project allowed me to explore my design identity by reflecting on the principles, values, inspirations, and strategies that guide my creative process. Through it, I gained deeper insight into what matters most to me as a designer and how these elements shape my approach to new projects. My journey began with a mind map, where I laid out my core design drivers and values. From there, I selected three non-interior images that captured key themes, creating 10 abstract sketches for each image to experiment with deconstructing and reinterpreting the imagery. The project concluded with a design philosophy statement that expresses my approach to design:

I strive to achieve timeless design, blending natural elements with structure to craft environments that feel both sustainable and lasting. I draw inspiration from history, art, and travel, gathering insights that enhance my work with a sense of place and cultural depth. Every space I design reflects authenticity, offering a place where people feel both comfortable and inspired. This philosophy anchors my work, guiding me as I continue to grow and adapt in my design journey and life.’
